Dining at Morena in Cusco was an absolute highlight of my trip! From the moment I walked in, the team made me feel genuinely welcomed with warm smiles and attentive service that never felt rushed or forced. Every member of the staff went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable, informed about the menu, and always had what we needed. Their knowledge of the dishes and recommendations made the experience even more special. The food itself was outstanding—vibrant, fresh, and beautifully presented. Each dish felt like a modern twist on Peruvian tradition, full of bold flavors that showcased the best of local ingredients. The portions were generous without losing refinement, and every bite was layered with taste and texture. Whether it was the ceviche, the perfectly grilled meats, or the creative cocktails, everything exceeded expectations. What impressed me most was the consistency of excellence: top-notch service, amazing atmosphere, and unforgettable food all coming together seamlessly. Morena is more than just a meal—it’s an experience. If you’re in Cusco, this place is an absolute must! PS: thank you for celebrating my birthday with your special touch!!!
Definitely recommend! We were able to walk in at 12 PM. Food was amazing! Service was impeccable. The restaurant was located right in front of Plaza de Armas so you can choose a table beside the window and get a great view of the squareS
From the moment you step inside this cozy Peruvian gem, you’re greeted with warm smiles and beautiful interior design. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between casual and inviting — colorful textiles, rustic wood accents, and soft Latin music in the background set the tone for an authentic culinary experience. The service is top-notch — friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. The staff is genuinely passionate about sharing their culture through food, always ready to offer recommendations or explain the history behind a dish. Now onto the star of the show — the food. The traditional Peruvian dishes are bursting with flavor and authenticity, with some modern fusion touches. Each dish feels like it was cooked with love and passion. And presentation is exceptional, like a work of art in every plate. Overall, this restaurant is a delightful escape from busy streets of Cusco — one that feeds not just your stomach, but your soul. Highly recommended!
Top notch restaurant! Elegant! Contemporary! Food beyond belief! So savory! We did not order a lot but we had an amazing time. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Everyone spoke great English. We set by the window. It was a perfect view. Food was so so delicious. The service was spectacular and very attentive. Do make a reservation!!! You can write them via WhatsApp in case you cannot reserve via google. Sometimes it's not always accurate. They are very responsive via WhatsApp!
High quality meal with generous servings at an affordable price! We liked everything we ordered - the seafood rice was definitely the standout. Ossobuco was also perfectly cooked with the meat falling off the bone and incredibly tender, but would note that this dish is a little heavy and salty. Great ambiance - loved all the lighting fixtures and greenery inside, and service was lovely. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Cusco. Reservations are a must.
Moreno Peruvian is the spot everyone swears you can’t miss in Cusco, so I hustled to snag a reservation. The menu is classic Peruvian, packed with bold flavors in every bite. Overall, everything was tasty, though a few things surprised me—like the guacamole, which was so sour it felt like a whole garden of limes moved in. The location is a win too, right in the heart of the city with a killer view.
Such a great first meal experience. All the food gorgeous. Setting, gorgeous. Service and staff were so kind. Great experience. I just happened to go to their sister restaurant on my last day as well at Campo Cocina Andina, a week+ later. It was meant to be. Food wise: guac is great. Alpaca is actually a bit tough contrary to popular opinion. Lechonito at Campo was marvelous.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Morena Peruvian Kitchen – Cusco (Plaza de Armas) We stopped in for lunch at Morena Peruvian Kitchen, right on the Plaza de Armas, and it was absolutely worth it. The atmosphere is bright and modern with a perfect view of the square — a great spot to relax and enjoy the energy of Cusco. I had the alpaca steak, which was cooked perfectly — tender, flavorful, and beautifully plated. It’s definitely on the pricier side for Peru, but it’s worth every sol for the quality, presentation, and service. For dessert, we tried the affogato, a creative twist made with mini churros, ice cream, and a shot of espresso you pour over the top. It was the perfect finish to an incredible meal. Service was excellent — friendly, attentive, and fast without being rushed. All around, a great place for lunch and a must-try for anyone visiting Cusco’s Plaza de Armas.
